Dr Dabber offers concentrate vaporizers in three forms: compact dab pens, portable 2-in-1 gadgets that are capable of vapourising both concentrate and dry herb, and desktop-style e-rigs. The selection we carry goes from the Light Pen at $29.99 to the Switch 2 at $578.99. The choice between the different models comes down to a single question above all else: do you prefer portability or do you want to enjoy a full rig experience at home?

Dr Dabber Switch Go
The Switch Go is the most versatile product that Dr Dabber has produced, and this is due to the chamber system. When using concentrates, a quartz atomizer is employed whilst a ceramic chamber is used in place of dry herb. The fact that one device can be used with both types of material is rare at this level and is the principal reason for its price.
| Format | Portable, pocket-sized |
| Materials | Concentrate and dry herb |
| Chambers | Quartz atomizer and ceramic chamber, swappable |
| Heating | Conduction |
| Heat settings | 4 |
| Charging | USB-C |
| Price | $439.95 CAD |
It should be made clear that the Switch Go makes use of conduction heating, not the induction system that is present in the Switch 2. It is wrong to describe it as a smaller induction unit. Conduction heats the insert through direct contact and does so at a slightly more gradual rate than induction, although it tends to be better at preserving flavour and terpenes. It represents a different method, not a cheaper version of the same method.
There are four heat settings, ranging from smooth low-temperature draws to more dense high-heat clouds, and the entire session can be controlled with a single button, meaning that loading and firing can be done with one hand. Since it is charged via USB-C, the cable is one that you already have.
The only real compromise is cost; at $439.95 it is the most costly model that the company offers for portable use, and if you never plan to use concentrates, you are paying for dry-herb functionality that you will never use. The Ghost 2 or XS instead cater to concentrate-only users at about one-third of that price.
Dr Dabber Ghost 2
The Ghost 2 is a portable vaporizer for concentrates and is intended for use with waxes, oils, shatter and rosin; it is not suitable for dry herb. It has five temperature settings ranging from 215°C to 280°C, the lower temperatures being better for flavour while the higher ones produce larger clouds, and it also includes dynamic heating modes which provide greater session control than most dab pens of this price.
Because of the hinged top, loading and cleaning are easier than with models that have a removable mouthpiece, and the body remains upright more steadily than that of a conventional pen. Although it has been designed with a focus on efficiency and taste rather than on having large capacities, it is not the appropriate device if you are looking for desktop-level cloud production.
It is priced at $158.99 (the price had previously been $169.95) and thus represents the middle point of the range; our complete Ghost 2 review provides a detailed look at the temperatures, battery life and performance.
Dr Dabber XS
The XS represents the smallest option in the range; it is a compact concentrate vaporizer designed for individuals who want something that is truly pocketable and simple to use. It is now priced at $157.99, having been reduced from $228.99, so it is about on par with the Ghost 2 in terms of price.
When it comes to making your choice, the question is about session control. The Ghost 2 has more settings relating to temperature and heating mode, while the XS is simpler and smaller in size. If you want the most compact device, then go for the XS. But if you prefer greater control over how it draws, the Ghost 2 is the better value at a comparable price. You should consider the XS.
Dr Dabber Switch 2
The Switch 2 is Dr Dabber’s top model, a desktop-type e-rig which is capable of using both concentrate and dry herb thanks to the brand’s induction heating system. It is the device that people who want a complete rig experience without having to use a torch should choose, and it is more expensive than the portable models.
| Format | Desktop e-rig |
| Materials | Concentrate and dry herb |
| Heating | Induction, with infrared temperature sensor |
| Battery | 3,000 mAh, up to 30 heating cycles |
| Heat-up | 5–20 seconds |
| Temperature range | 121°C to 343°C |
| Charging | USB-C pass-through, 60–90 minutes |
| Price | $578.99 CAD |
It is the most costly device that Dr Dabber produces, the difference in price compared to the Switch Go being about $140. The argument in favour of it is the extensive rig experience it provides, which includes a bigger glass bubbler, induction heating, and a greater level of control than any portable device can give. The objection to it is that it has to remain on a table; if you want to take it out of the house, then the Switch Go is the device you should choose.
The detailed aspects of the induction system, the available insert options, and real-world battery life are all covered in our full Switch 2 review.
The inserts are consumable items on this device and we sell them separately; the Switch 2 parts range includes quartz inserts which cost $59.95 and sapphire inserts which cost $118.99.
Dr Dabber Light Pen Kit
The Light Pen Kit is the cheapest option in the range at $29.99 and represents a truly different approach compared to the other items in the range. It is roughly the size of a standard pen and has been designed with discretion and portability in mind rather than performance.
| Heating element | Titanium coil with glass fibre wick |
| Battery | 650 mAh lithium-ion |
| Materials | Wax and oil only, not dry herb |
| Heat-up | Under 5 seconds |
| Controls | Single button: five clicks on/off, hold to vape |
| Charging | USB, around one hour to full |
| Price | $29.99 CAD |
A spare atomizer is included with the kit, a feature that is important on a device of this price because atomizers tend to wear out more quickly on this type of model than on more expensive ones. Our complete Light Pen review goes into detail about the unboxing, performance, and maintenance.
The device’s main drawbacks are clear: the chamber is small and designed for single doses rather than for use by multiple people, it has no kind of adjustable temperature control, and the atomisers have to be replaced more frequently than those on more expensive models. If you are looking for a cheap, easy to carry and simple option, or a cheaper device to take on travel, then this pen is the one to buy.
Replacement Parts
The devices made by Dr Dabber have useable parts, such as atomisers, chambers and glass, and these are available separately. You can look through the Dr Dabber parts section, where you’ll find the components for the Switch, Switch 2, Boost Evo and XS Nano, or proceed directly to the Ghost 2 parts.
On any device used for concentrating, the atomizers and chambers are parts that wear out; having a spare ensures that you have a quiet evening rather than an unusable device.
Dab Pen or E-Rig?
The split that matters is portability against power.
Dab pens
the Ghost 2 and XS — are built to be carried. They produce real vapour and hold flavour well, but they do not replace the draw of a full rig. They suit discreet use away from home.
E-rigs
the Switch 2, and the Switch Go as a portable hybrid — deliver more vapour, more control and a session closer to a traditional rig, in exchange for size and cost. They suit home use where the experience matters more than the footprint.

FAQs
Which Dr Dabber works with both dry herb and concentrate?
The Switch Go, using swappable quartz and ceramic chambers. The Ghost 2 and XS are concentrate-only devices.
What’s the difference between the Ghost 2 and the XS?
Both are portable concentrate vaporizers at a similar price. The Ghost 2 offers five temperature settings and dynamic heating modes; the XS is smaller and simpler. Choose the Ghost 2 for control, the XS for size.
How do I clean a Dr Dabber atomizer?
Wipe the quartz chamber with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab after each session. Letting residue build up is the most common cause of reduced flavour.
